The Oklahoma City Blazers are proud to announce their first signing of the 2019-20 season, inking Swedish goaltender Joel Svensson to the team.

Svensson comes to the Blazers after playing last season with Helsingborgs HC, playing 12 games with their J20 team, and playing 11 games with their Division 1 team.

Hailing from Ängelholm, Sweden, Svensson has spent the 2013-2018 seasons with Rogle BK, working his way through their junior teams, culminating in the 2017-18 season in the Swedish SuperElit league, the top-tier junior league in Sweden.

In the 2014-15 season, Svensson also participated in the annual TV-pucken tournament, held every year in Sweden as the nation's districts gather their top youth players, playing for Skåne in a pair of games.

Born in 1999, Svensson joins the Blazers and the WSHL in his final year of eligibility, looking to backstop OKC in their quest for the Thorne Cup.
