Eagles Claw Back, Take Finale Over OKC

by Eric Rodgers

Sunday afternoon marked the conclusion of the Oklahoma City Blazers series against the Northern Colorado Eagles. Both teams stuck with the same goaltenders through the weekend as Bobby Cloutier and Marshall Murphy were back in net.

Oklahoma City started out the scoring in the 1st period as Joey Allegrini scored the only goal in the first 20 minutes. OKC followed that up with the lone goal in the 2nd period as well with Vitali Mikhailov taking over the second spot on the all-time Blazers goal-scoring list.

As the teams entered the 3rd, the Blazers held the 2-0 lead, but Northern Colorado came back and scored three straight to take over the lead.

With Bobby Cloutier pulled for the extra attacker, the Blazers were unable to convert, and the Eagles came away with the 3-2 win.

The Blazers travel to Kansas next weekend for a three-game set against the Wichita Jr. Thunder.
